Today, sophisticated institutional investors are managing an increasingly complicated array of public and private assets in their portfolios, but rely on technology and solutions that reflect the siloed investment offices of the past. In addition, the presence of multiple data models across financial products requires manual consolidation of data to achieve an integrated view across asset classes.
The proliferation of siloed investment management tools with niche capabilities and disparate data sets, results in specialized technology and, operational and portfolio data administration support with high overhead, coupled with cyclical software maintenance. Due to these silos, the information that institutional investors are receiving at the whole portfolio level is too static and periodic to be actionable. As institutions build more complex, multi-strategy portfolios that blend public and private assets, they need to have a holistic view of all investments to quickly assess risk and make informed decisions.
