Shirley Eckes

Global Head of Operations State of Wisconsin Investment Board

Shirley joined the Investment Board in 2012 as assistant director of investment operations and fund accounting and was named chief operating officer in 2016. While at SWIB, Shirley has led a team of staff and third-party services responsible for key investment lifecycle and accounting functions that serves numerous diverse stakeholders across the organization. She has been a thought leader in organization-wide strategic planning. Prior to joining SWIB, Shirley held several positions in state government including deputy secretary and chief operating officer first at the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and then at the Wisconsin Department of E-Government. She also worked in the private sector as a real estate investor and a business and information technology business leader.  Shirley is a certified public accountant and attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and University of Wisconsin – Madison.
