Head of Charles River for Private Markets State Street

Alex Popp is Head of Private Markets for Charles River Development. In this role, he is responsible for strategy and execution across product, engineering, customer success, and sales.

Alex has been with Charles River Development since the acquisition of our Private Markets business in 2021. Previously, he was the global head of sales and account management at CRPM (formerly Mercatus).  In this role, he was responsible for all new and existing business.

He regularly engages with our client’s executive teams across the world to ensure he stays current on their priorities and challenges in the market.

Prior to joining CRPM, Alex was a Partner in the POPP risk GROUP, a management consulting firm that works with the world’s global and regional financial institutions, where Alex was responsible for sales, delivery, recruiting and the career development program.

Alex has a B.A. from Amherst College.
